Judge Jerry Baxter has had a distinguished 52-year career in the Fulton County Courts. He has served as an assistant solicitor general, an assistant district attorney, a state court judge, a superior court judge, and now a senior superior court judge. As a trial lawyer, he tried more than 100 jury trials. As a judge over the last 41 years, he has tried hundreds of civil jury trials, including numerous Complex Personal Injury, Products Liability, and Medical Malpractice cases. He was known in the courthouse for his efficient handling of his docket and his common-sense approach to resolving disputes.

Judge Baxter is a native of Atlanta who graduated from Grady High School. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. Judge Baxter has two daughters and a son. His hobbies include walking his dog Roger.
